Industry platform for microtechnology production

Sector for new theme reflects trends that determine one’s ability to compete
MicroNanoWorld

The new exhibition sector MicroNanoWorld will give you an in-depth, comprehensive look at the entire value-added chain in the future sector of microsystem technology.

MicroNanoWorld is an exhibition sector at Productronica as well as electronica, the international trade fair for electronic components, systems and applications. Each year MicroNanoWorld focuses on different themes and product profiles. At this year’s Productronica, MicroNanoWorld will focus on the latest manufacturing techniques for miniaturized products, but at electronica 2006 MicroNanoWorld will be a showcase for microproducts that are produced using micro- and nanotechnology manufacturing techniques.

Making a key technology tangible—
The presentation topics:

  • Mounting and connection technology
  • Packaging
  • Materials
  • Simulation techniques
  • Development tools
  • Production, insertion, assembly and handling systems
  • Ultra-precision machine tools
  • Bonders
  • Measuring and testing systems
  • Interlinking equipment
Productronica makes the growing importance of this key technology tangible on 11,000 m2 of exhibition space. The exhibition categories in Hall B5 include microstructuring techniques, high-precision material machining, micro-assembly and the latest microconnecting techniques in the sector for semiconductor manufacturing.

Focus: Processes and production equipment

MicroNanoWorld is the industry platform for innovative solutions in micro-manufacturing as well as for research, development and production. It focuses on the latest manufacturing techniques for miniaturized products. It is used in many branches of industry including the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, communications technology, medical technology and, of course, the electronics industry. Microsystem technology provides the necessary integration techniques at the interfaces between the nano-, microand macro-worlds. It makes it possible to accommodate electrical, optical, mechanical and sensory functions in the tiniest spaces.

The VDMA SEMI Forum and the MicroSystemTechnology User Forum, which feature lectures, presentations and discussions, are also closely linked to this integration technology. Above all, the future of microtechnology depends on communication between those who possess the necessary expertise. And it is exactly this dialog that Productronica promotes at MicroNanoWorld. Prominent specialists from the manufacturing-technology sector report on the latest trends and developments, while exhibitors explain their innovations by demonstrating production processes.
